Meet the Team
Chairman and CEO
Graham has had a broad range of managerial and directorship positions including heading up the medical division of W. L. Gore & Associates for the UK and South Africa, which involved extensive negotiations and interaction with NHS and foreign governmental procurement entities. Having spent 10 years as an Officer in the TA, and after leaving W.L. Gore, he then used the military skills learnt to form his first company in corporate team building, which became one of the largest in the UK.
As well as starting, establishing, running and subsequently selling a number of companies, Graham has also acted as Chairman/ Non-Executive Director or worked on a consultancy basis for a range of diverse companies from the marine engineering market place, through cutting edge boat designs, scientific development companies, medical and surgical implant companies and a scuba diving company.
Graham is also an external examiner for the Napier University Business School MBA course, and his interests include being a keen rugby referee, scuba diving, travel and skiing.
Chief Operating Officer
David is a senior operational leader with a 30+ year career, including Board-level military roles in the UK, US and Middle East and business development experience for a global defence contractor. During his 30 year career with the Royal Navy he was privileged to have commanded at all levels. A qualified Mine Clearance Diver and Principal Warfare Officer (Communications and Electronic Warfare) he has worked across the full spectrum of Maritime and Joint Operations and has gained a unique insight into Central Government ‘crisis and consequence management’ (COBR). Military Staff appointments included programme manager of a £1.2 billion procurement programme. Latterly, he worked for BAE Systems in Maritime Business Development and Strategy. He has been a key note speaker and co-authored papers at internationally renowned symposiums.
David is also a Secretary of State (DEFRA) Representative on the New Forest National Park Authority, holds two Masters degrees and is STCW2 qualified. His interests include scuba diving, skiing and triathlon.
Clive Vernon FFA FFTA was appointed to the Board as Finance Director in 2015. He has over 40 years’ experience in the world of finance, both as founder and principal of his own accountancy Practice and as finance director of commercial enterprises across various sectors. His firm control of the company’s resources and his understanding of business funding issues are both well renowned.
Away from business, he is (or was!) a keen sportsman and he is also a former member of Rock Choir, singing bass with gusto at public concerts and performances. His other main interest is creative writing but the first twenty thousand words of that elusive first novel currently remain on his computer rather than on a publisher’s desk.
Before joining SubSea Craft, Bill was a former member of the UK armed forces. In command of a maritime asset that delivered both surface and sub-surface strategic capability, his organisation and development of specialist technical operational systems up to Top-Secret has led to the development of a comprehensive skill set.
He has planned and executed highly sensitive complex evolutions involving multi-million pound assets and delivery systems. His solid foundation of health and safety knowledge has been developed from planning, commanding and delivering complex maritime operations. Bill can enforce policy and regulations through knowledge and experience whilst motivating and training individuals to gain their highest levels of safety awareness and performance.
Bill’s depth of knowledge and experience also extends to his activities and interests: Motorcycles, Kayaking, Scuba Diving and Football.
